who? part two

Well my wife Vicki, daughter Fiona, and I have been in Seattle now for about a year and I think it’s time to update and add a little more info as to where we are at this spot in this crazy thing we call, life! I am a creative/worship arts pastor for a new church movement in the Seattle area. Our first plant, which is called New Vintage (check us out here), is going well as we are connecting with numerous people and beginning to take shape. God has morphed us quite a bit over the last year to the way He wanted us look, so that’s always an exciting and difficult period, when God takes over and you are just along for the ride.
Over the past year, my family and I have adapted quite well to the new, Northwest culture. We love it out here! There is so much to do, especially outdoors! There is so much interesting culture as well and it is always good to be able to be so close to a major city, but still feel like you are not. Everything is so close here as well. We can be in the city in 10 minutes, we can be in the country in 10 minutes, we can be at a horse farm in 10 minutes, we can be at the mall in 10 minutes, we are 2 minutes from Lake Washington and about 2.5 hours from the Pacific Ocean. We are only about an hour from some of the most incredible mountains and a plythera of year-round, outdoor activities. There is not many things that you can’t do in the area, within a short distance.
We are also currently in the process of adopting our second child from China. And, even though the wait time is almost triple what it was when we adopted our now 3 year old, back in 2005, we have gotten all of our paperwork done in about 1 month, which is quite amazing considering last time it took us about 9 months. Now is just waiting…waiting for our fingerprint appointment…waiting for our final document after that from immigration…sending our dossier to China and then waiting (the now 15-17 month wait) for China to match us up with our child. Definitely a great lesson in patience, which we’ve have had quite a bit of training in over the last year or two!

Anyways, that’s us right now. As things develop over the year, I will keep these pages moving with updates. until next time…rock on! — jeff
